Tottenham Hotspur are still looking for a new permanent manager in wake of Antonio Conte’s exit last month.

For the time being, Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason hold the Spurs reins as they search for a top-four finish.

However, now more than ever, Daniel Levy must get his next managerial appointment spot on.

Since Mauricio Pochettino was sacked, Tottenham have regressed.

Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte were not able to take Spurs back to the Pochettino heights.

Plenty of managers have been linked with the Spurs reins, including Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique.

However, there is one leftfield option that could benefit Tottenham both on the pitch and in the transfer market.

Ange Postecoglou has worked wonders since taking the Celtic reins.

He very quickly turned the Hoops into a title-winning team once again, playing dazzling football along the way.

‘In the Premier League also’

Peter Cklamovski, who worked as Postecoglou’s assistant boss at Yokohama F Marinos, had the highest praise for the Australian.

He told Football Scotland in November 2022: “Obviously there has been strong interest for Ange recently.

“I’ve been saying this for over a decade but Ange is one of the best managers in the world.

“He is showing his quality in the Celtic role, he loves Celtic and is doing an amazing job there.

“He will prove that he is one of the best managers in the world in the English Premier League also.

“I’m sure this will happen at the right time for all parties.”

Postecoglou’s style of play has been given its own moniker – Angeball.

As per The Celtic Wiki, Angeball’s key components are inverted full-backs, building from the back, relentless pressing, creativity of players, ball retention and limiting opposition ball time.

Postecoglou is also a genius in the transfer market, unearthing gems who have hit the ground running at Parkhead.

‘Might increase the noise’

Now, Daniel Levy has made a change at Tottenham which ‘might increase the noise’ around Postecoglou.

Spurs have recently brought Scott Munn in as their new Chief Football Officer in wake of Fabio Paratici’s FIFA ban.

While an appeal will be heard on April 19, Paratici has stepped away from his duties at Tottenham.

Munn spent most of his career working in his native Australia.

With that in mind, Alasdair Gold suggested that Postecoglou’s name could feature more prominently.

“The arrival of Scott Munn might increase the noise around Celtic boss Ange Postecoglu, who grew up and coached in Australia,” he told a Q&A on football.london.

Admittedly, it’ll probably be difficult to prise Postecoglou away from Celtic as he loves it there and the fans adore him.

Nevertheless, Levy’s decision to appoint Munn may just give Spurs a bit of an advantage compared to other suitors.
