Ian Wright thinks Daniel Levy has ‘lucked out’ with Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur, as he told the Kelly and Wrighty Show on Premier League Productions (14/04/22 at 1:25 pm).

The Highbury legend also admitted that it is ‘frightening’ to think what Tottenham can do in the Premier League, with Conte, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.

In 2022, only Liverpool and Manchester City have picked up more points in the Premier League than Spurs.

That has sky-rocketed the north London club into fourth spot, where they are now in charge of securing Champions League football.

Wright shared his thoughts on the goings-on at Spurs and how things are going well under their highly-demanding Italian coach.

“Levy has lucked out, he has lucked out with this manager,” said Wright. “And Man United, whatever you say about how he coaches, they have missed out.

“Tottenham are going to have to do unbelievable stuff to catch what Man City and Liverpool are doing, in respect of squads and achievements.

“If there is a manager that is going to help them to do it, then it will be Conte.

“It’s frightening, at the moment, with what Spurs could do with this manager, Harry Kane and Son.”

If Spurs have indeed ‘lucked out’ it with Conte, then those upstairs need to show him in the summer why he should extend his stay at the club.

As things stand, Conte’s contract in north London has just over 12 months remaining on it.

Of course, if he wants to do some serious work at Spurs, then he needs to be at Hotspur Way longer.

But you just get the feeling that his level of happiness during the forthcoming transfer window will play a part in whether he puts ink to paper.
