Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with two Ajax talents.

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer window simply wasn’t good enough, and whilst Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino will certainly know that, the same can’t happen again in 2019.
Spurs didn’t manage to bring in a single signing this summer, meaning Pochettino is working with last season’s squad, and hasn’t been able to freshen up or strengthen his side.
It’s now imperative that Tottenham set their stall out in January or next summer, and reports suggest that Pochettino already has his sights set on one of Europe’s most talented young midfielders.
Mundo Deportivo report that Spurs are rivalling Barcelona for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong, and have already communicated their interest ahead of the January transfer window.
The news on De Jong comes just months after Football.London claimed that Spurs wanted a different Ajax talent, with defender Matthijs de Ligt also thought to be one of Pochettino’s main targets.
Levy has come in for huge criticism recently, but sanctioning a double raid on Ajax for De Ligt and De Jong – coming in at around £100million – would surely get fans back on side with the Spurs chairman.

De Ligt, 19, and De Jong, 21, both look set for huge futures, and could be ideal successors to veteran Belgians Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele should they – as expected – leave Spurs, with De Ligt already playing like a seasoned veteran and De Jong possessing outstanding playmaking ability from deep.
Signing both players would cost a huge sum of money, but with Pochettino keen to sign two of the most coveted youngsters in Europe, it’s time for Spurs to make a real statement by landing the Ajax duo and allowing Pochettino to finally splash the cash on two more Ajax talents after the success of Davinson Sanchez.
