According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in Troy Deeney.

The big forward was relegated with Watford last season and Spurs are ‘monitoring’ his situation.

Tottenham are in dire need of another number nine and haven’t signed a proper one for three years, with Fernando Llorente the last established centre-forward who was added.

With Troy Parrott loaned to Millwall, and Harry Kane suffering a serious injury in January which ruled him out for three months, Jose Mourinho can’t afford to go the entire 2020-21 campaign without signing another goalscorer.

But it looks like some fans of the North London club aren’t all that excited by the possibility of bringing in Deeney, who turned 32 in June.

Here’s how they’re reacting on Twitter:

Di Marzio reported on Friday night that Tottenham had a loan bid rejected for Andrea Belotti which, if true, indicates that Daniel Levy has other targets prioritised over the Hornets’ forward.

Mourinho confirmed yesterday that he believed Levy would be signing a striker.

But the longer it goes without signing somebody, the more likely it could be someone easy to get like Deeney.
