Leeds United and Brighton and Hove Albion have been linked with Harry Cochrane of Heart of Midlothian in the summer transfer window.
Leeds United and Brighton and Hove Albion must have been disappointed with the recent development on the future of Heart of Midlothian midfielder Harry Cochrane.
Back in February, The Scottish Sun claimed of Leeds and Brighton’s interest in the 17-year-old midfielder.
Cochrane is enjoying a breakthrough season at Hearts and is one of the best young players in the Scottish Premiership.
Leeds and Brighton, though, must have been disappointed with Cochrane signing a new deal with Hearts which will see him remain at Tynecastle Park until 2021.
It seems that the Championship club and the Premier League outfit are set for further disappointment, with Hearts manager Craig Levein recently stating to Capital City Press that he does not plan to sell Cochrane anytime soon.
Levein told Capital City Press regarding new contracts handed to Cochrane and Anthony McDonald: “They want to play and that excites me more than anything.
“You’re right, we could have sold both of them already, easily. I don’t want to sell them, I want them to play 100 games for Hearts and then we can look at it again.”
Moving on
Levein’s comments suggest that Leeds and Brighton will be rebuffed in any approach for Cochrane in the summer transfer window.
Perhaps the Whites and the Seagulls should move on from the 17-year-old and find some other targets in the summer.
