According to the Daily Mirror (print edition, 11th December, page 57), Sheffield Wednesday are set to sanction Keiren Westwood’s departure ahead of the January transfer window.

Wednesday are due to offload Westwood to Leeds United, and it could be one of Jos Luhukay’s final transfer decisions.

Luhukay is clinging on to his job at Wednesday, but it appears almost inevitable that he will leave Hillsborough sooner rather than later.

The Dutch boss has lost large sections of the Owls crowd, and it is hard to see him ever recovering from the current situation.

However, if he does get rid of Westwood before he departs, then Luhukay could be impacting on Wednesday’s chances for the rest of the season.
