Harry Redknapp has told Antonio Conte that Tottenham Hotspur are a ‘massive club’ after the Italian seemingly questioned the size of the club.
On Tuesday night, Harry Kane had a last-gasp winner against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League ruled out for offside and Conte stated that type of call wouldn’t happen to a ‘top team’, as he told Sky Sports.
Well, Redknapp made it clear to the 53-year-old that Spurs are a ‘big club’ because they possibly have the best stadium in Europe and one of the best training grounds, as he told Sky Sports News (27/10/22 at 4:55 pm).

Sporting Lisbon had taken the lead through a quite brilliant Marcus Edwards goal from long-range – Freddie Ljungberg thought Hugo Lloris should have saved that effort from the former Spurs academy product.
As has been the case with the Premier League side in recent weeks, there was a lot of frustration with their play and the fans were making them know about it.
With ten minutes left on the clock, Rodrigo Bentencur headed in from the corner and then Spurs started to pile on the pressure when Kane thought he had scored in stoppage-time following a knockdown from Emerson Royal.
But replays suggested that Kane was offside and that was met with anger from the fans and the players, including Cotne who was sent off after the full-time whistle – Premier League legend, Thierry Henry, felt it was the right call.
Nonetheless, Conte’s frustrations boiled over to his press conference and Redknapp didn’t like what he was hearing from the Spurs manager, as he backed them to progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League next week.
“If it has gone their way, if it had been on the opposite foot, then it swings in roundabouts,” said Redknapp. “You get some and you lose some.
“I heard Antonio (Conte) saying about ‘would it happen to a big club?’. Well, Spurs are a big club. I mean, let’s not kid ourselves. Spurs are a massive club. They have the best stadium possibly in Europe. The best training ground. It’s a fantastic big football club.
“So, they just didn’t get the rub of the green, unfortunately, last night with that decision. I think they will still go to Marseille and get a result. I can’t see them getting beat. A draw will do it and it will take them into the next round and I will be disappointed if they couldn’t get something from that game.”

THE MARSEILLE TEST
Sporting have proven to be the toughest opponent for Spurs in the Champions League this season, but Rúben Amorim’s side are out of the way now.
It’s the test of character and bottle for Spurs as they step foot into the Stade Vélodrome next week knowing a point will see them progress.
