Some Arsenal fans on social media are over the moon after Gabriel Martinelli confirmed that he’s fit and available to play in the Europa League on Thursday.
The Brazilian had been nursing a knock, but it seems as though his ankle problem isn’t enough to keep him sidelined against Slavia Prague.
The winger was asked if he’s carrying an injury going into Thursday’s game, to which he replied:
“No, I am alright to play on Thursday.”
As you can imagine, Arsenal supporters were buzzing with this update.
Martinelli is certainly a fan favourite at the Emirates, and it seems as though the fanbase are keen to see him start in the Europa League after this update.
Whether or not Martinelli starts on Thursday remains to be seen, but he’s definitely in contention for selection, and it’s now up to Mikel Arteta to decide if he wants to put him in his XI.
