Speaking on Stadium Astro’s YouTube Channel, Heung-Min Son has commented on the criticism Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has faced this season.

Mourinho has been slated in the media at times this term as Spurs have had a bit of a rollercoaster campaign, and Son doesn’t think that his treatment has been warranted.

“Yeah, I think so, because look, let’s be honest. I think he’s won the most trophies in football management,” Son said when asked if he thought Mourinho’s criticism was unfair.

“Every single club has tough situations and the way we go, we’ve gone through a couple of weeks now and he’s shown he will never give up and that’s why he’s shown that he’s one of the best managers in the world, so I think, it’s a bit unfair as well.”

Jose Mourinho has been criticised by people who haven’t had half of the impact he’s had on football, and while Spurs have had rough patches this term, it’s hard to question the tactical acumen of a man who has won three Premier League trophies.

Tottenham seem to be turning things around in recent weeks, and it looks as though the narrative on Mourinho in the media has once again changed, with pundits again coming out to praise him.

As long as players like Son are behind the manager, Spurs won’t be steered too far wrong.
