Danny Mills has raved about West Ham United star Michail Antonio on Racing Post.

The former Leeds United and Manchester City right-back has been impressed by the performances of Antonio for West Ham so far this season.

Mills said about Antonio on Racing Post: “He has got great skill, great ability, he has got an eye for goal, his confidence is very, very high.

“But let’s be honest. His game is about work-rate. He is so unselfish at times, he makes run after run after run.”

Michail Antonio Stats

Antonio has scored three goals in six Premier League appearances for West Ham so far this season, according to WhoScored.

During the 2019-20 campaign, the former Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest winger scored 10 goals and provided three assists in the Premier League for the Hammers, according to WhoScored.

The 30-year-old is a winger by trade, but West Ham manager David Moyes has deployed him as a forward, and it has worked.

Disappointment

However, Antonio will not be in action for West Ham in their Premier League game against Liverpool away from home at Anfield on Saturday.

As stated on the Hammers’ official website, the 30-year-old has a hamstring injury and will not turn out against the Reds.

Diogo Jota’s verdict

Meanwhile, Liverpool winger Diogo Jota has given his take on West Ham.

The Portugal international is not taking the threat posed by West Ham for today’s game lightly.

Jota told West Ham’s official website: “I think they’ve only lost one game in their last six, so they are on a good run. They drew against [Manchester] City in their last game, so we know we have to be at our best to be able to get the three points tomorrow.”

The former Wolves star added: “Yes, as I said, in their last six games they’ve only lost one. They have been playing good games as well. They are a team with confidence at the moment, so that’s why it’s going to be hard and why we need to be at our best.”
