Chris Sutton has claimed that Kalvin Phillips has had his ‘head turned’ at Leeds United, as he told 606 on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

The outspoken pundit suggested that Phillips could leave in January after he once again questioned his alleged ‘fall out’ with Marcelo Bielsa.

Even though Phillips put to bed that nothing has happened between him and Bielsa, as he told Amazon Prime, it’s something that Sutton seemingly refuses to believe.

In truth, it all stemmed from a hunch by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp, after he suggested ‘something’s not right’ between Phillips and Bielsa.

This came after the Leeds man was subbed off at half-time, for tactical reasons, during their draw against Brighton.

Nonetheless, Leeds fans won’t like it, but Sutton was questioning Phillips’ future ahead of the winter transfer window re-opening.

“What about the fall out with Phillips and Bielsa,” questioned Sutton. “Oh, come on (Sutton responded after he was told that it doesn’t exist).

“Are you convinced (speaking to a Leeds fan) that he is going to be at Leeds in January? Because it looks to me like he may have had his head turned.

“Let’s be honest. Leeds is a great club with a great history.”

Given what Bielsa has done at Leeds and how far both he and Phillips have come, there is no way there has been any falling out of any kind between them.

Bielsa taking off players at half-time is the norm because he has never been afraid to make bold changes.

From throwing in the young guns in big pressure moments to taking someone off before half-time if his tactics aren’t working.

But, at this moment in time, Phillips is a bonafide England international, one of the best defensive midfielders in the country and Bielsa has played a huge part in his rise.

What is more important is that Phillips recognises that.
