Peter Crouch told Amazon Prime that Mo Salah was ‘non-existent’ during Liverpool’s goalless draw with Newcastle on Wednesday night.
There were a number of chances that fell into Salah’s path during the match, but the quick-footed Egyptian is usually sharp enough to bury his chances, but not this time.
Whilst the £37 million man [Guardian] didn’t have his shooting boots on, he was also met by the Newcastle wall in between their sticks in Karl Darlow.
Nonetheless, after the match, Crouch shared his thoughts on Salah’s performance on the night and he thinks he wasn’t himself.
“Let’s be honest, it didn’t click,” said Crouch. “Certainly Mane in the first-half. Salah was non-existent, he couldn’t get into the game at all in the first-half.
“Having said that Salah had the best chance of the game and it was unlike him. 9/10, he opens that up with his left foot and bends it in. He just didn’t quite get the curl on it, at the time. Little bit disjointed.”
