Some Arsenal fans on Twitter are reacting to a report about Alex Runarsson.

Earlier this week it looked like the 26-year-old Iceland international was set for a loan move to Altay.

But Football London reported today that the deal collapsed after the Turkish club failed to agree a loan fee with Arsenal.

Runarsson joined the Gunners last September but had a difficult first season at the Emirates Stadium.

In fact, Arsenal signed Mat Ryan as their second-choice goalkeeper in January and the former was not even included in the Europa League squad after Christmas.

Having endured a shocker on a number of occasions last season, fans of the North Londoners aren’t hugely keen on Runarsson.

Here’s how they reacted to hearing his botched transfer:

Overhaul

With Arsenal trying to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United, that’s another sign of Runarsson being completely finished.

It has been such a bizarre signing by the Gunners and one you really have to question, if they’re getting rid of him this quickly.

But the supporters are also suspicious of plans to pay £30 million for Ramsdale, which does, in fairness, seem excessive.

Even Bernd Leno, Arsenal’s number one, has major question marks over him so really, you could argue their goalkeeping situation needs a complete overhaul.
