Aston Villa’s loss to Norwich City could be a big cause for concern at the Midlands club.
Many have been singing the praises of Steve Bruce for some time now, however there were certainly weaknesses shown during their narrow defeat at the hands of Norwich City. The Villains looked lethargic, slow to the ball and generally worn out, and given the tasking nature of the Championship schedule it poses cause for concern.
There’s a great deal of deadwood that needs clearing out at Villa, and performances like this show just how important the January transfer window is going to be. Regardless of all the rumours about FFP, the funds are definitely there for the club to make a change.

Villa are in desperate need of two things more than anything else – a right back, and a box to box midfielder that can make things happen. There’s a solid back line and a good attacking unit, but it’s putting the finishing pieces together in the middle of the park that is going to be important.
Radical changes can often be seen as a problem, but so long as there’s a degree of control behind it then things can work out. Tony Xia seems to have a found a man in Steve Bruce that knows this division and how it works, so if they can combine well together then the future is bright.
Another performance like the one in midweek will certainly ring the alarm bells even more.
