James Maddison sent a bold title message to Liverpool and Tottenham during Sky Sports’ live coverage of Leicester City’s win against Chelsea.
During Maddison’s post-match interview, he stated that the new Premier League leaders will do their business ‘in the background’ and he will let the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham ‘talk’ in regards to the title race.
This season has been dominated by the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Spurs getting the headlines in the race to become champions.
But the Foxes, who are now sitting top of the tree, have slowly worked their magic and Maddison sent this message to the likes of Spurs and Liverpool.
“We are not up there by fluke,” said Maddison. “We are up there because we work hard.
“Listen, people might talk about the United’s, the Liverpool’s and the Tottenham’s or whatever. But let them talk.
“We will do our business in the background and come then end of the season, it will hopefully give us a chance to be right up there.”

Manchester City can move to the top of the Premier League table tonight if they beat Aston Villa on home soil.
But fourth-placed Liverpool would close that gap at the top to one point if they see off Burnley on Thursday night.
It’s all topsy-turvy, at this moment in time, and this titanic battle is only heading towards a potentially dramatic final few weeks of the season.
