Manchester United fans on Twitter are keen for their club to allow Tottenham-linked Jesse Lingard to leave this month.
ESPN previously reported that Tottenham have registered an interest in the England international.
Just like Dele Alli at Spurs, ever since England reached the World Cup semi-finals in 2018, both players have fallen off a cliff.
They were key members of that side, but it seems as though the duo are at a crossroads in their careers.
There was even a suggestion from Manchester United fans that they should swap Lingard for Tottenham’s very own talent, Alli, who has struggled to earn minutes of his own.
But that would be difficult to see. However, they are all urging the club to let Lingard leave given that a number of clubs, including Tottenham, are seemingly happy to take him on board.
Whether Spurs supporters would be happy themselves with such a move remains to be seen, but Lingard has worked and thrived under Jose Mourinho’s stewardship before.
It’s an interesting one to look out for and it won’t be a surprise if it drags on until the end of the window.
