Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after it was reported by the Daily Mail that Dele Alli would welcome the chance to leave the club in January.
What’s the story with Alli?
The Athletic reported on Monday that Spurs are open to letting Alli leave in January, potentially on loan, and it sounds as though the player is also keen to get away from north London.
Indeed, the Daily Mail claim that the midfielder is keen to make a move this winter, and as you can imagine, Spurs fans have had plenty to say about this.
Alli came to Spurs as a youngster, and from very early on it looked as though he was destined for the top.
He won two PFA Young Player of the Year awards and was a regular in the England squad, but, for one reason or another, Alli seems to have lost his way.
Indeed, the goals have dried up, the flair is nowhere to be seen and he’s simply not working hard enough.
Sad to see
Tottenham fans online are seemingly keen to see Alli leave, and that’s incredibly sad to see.
Alli should have been a legend in north London. He was banging in the goals as a youngster and he looked like he’d be a true Tottenham icon.
However, now, at the tender age of just 25, it looks as though his time is up at Spurs and fans really don’t seem to care all that much.
A few years ago, this would have been a massive tragedy, but now, Spurs probably won’t even miss Alli if he does go.
