Pundit Darren Bent has suggested Arsenal to sell Eddie Nketiah in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old was lauded for how he seamlessly replaced Gabriel Jesus during his length spell out due to injury, with Gary Neville calling him the player that has surprised him the most in the Premier League.

Despite Eddie Nketiah proving his quality as a backup No.9, pundit Darren Bent believes it is high-time Arsenal get rid of him.

Admittedly, the English striker was not at his best in certain games such as in his side’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester City, while failing to score in four consecutives games after his brace against Manchester United.

However, Nketiah did also bag four goals in five starts before this mini-dry spell and his all-round displays were rightly being lauded.

Pundit Darren Bent, who is a boyhood Arsenal supporter has suggested that the club now sell Eddie Nketiah, as he believes the striking department needs upgrades.

“I think I’d even try and get another centre forward in. As good as [Gabriel] Jesus is and he is fantastic, he doesn’t score enough goals and spends a lot of his time outside of the box. They need someone in there who is going to score goals, will put their head in there”, he said on talkSPORT.

“I know Arsenal play that way, but I would let Eddie go and try and get another one in.”

HITC View: Not a priority

Ultimately, Arsenal have bigger priorities in the summer than selling Eddie Nketiah to sign a new striker, opposing the point made by pundit Darren Bent.

With Granit Xhaka and Kieran Tierney rumoured to leave as well as Bukayo Saka looking increasingly jaded amongst other foreseeable tasks, a No.9 simply should not be the club’s priority.

Arsenal, who look likely to finish second did not falter away due to the absence of a clinical finisher but a multitude of factors.

As a result, the club need to bring in more numbers whilst addressing other key problem areas to challenge Manchester City once again.
