Arsenal fans will be hoping to catch a first glimpse of their latest signing tomorrow.
The Gunners have signed Nuno Tavares from Benfica in what is their only summer addition thus far.
The Portuguese left-back joins Arsenal as a covering option for Kieran Tierney and head coach Mikel Arteta revealed this week that he could earn a debut in Saturday’s friendly away to Rangers.
And if his training is anything to go by, Nuno is certainly ready for Ibrox.
Arteta put his Arsenal side through their paces in Scotland on Thursday and one photo of the 21-year-old jumped out – literally.
Nuno was photographed displaying his immense athleticism in one still of Arteta’s session, leaping several feet off the ground.
Here’s how some fans of the North London club reacted on Twitter:
Who starts?
The bad news for Tavares is that Tierney is available for the trip to Rangers.
The former Celtic defender cut short his pre-season break after Euro 2020 specifically to face Steven Gerrard’s side tomorrow.
If he’s fit, the Arsenal boss may well start the Scot but, by the same token, Nuno has to be that bit fitter at the moment and therefore could genuinely get the nod.
