Reports had suggested that Queens Park Rangers had sacked Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink straight away after their draw with Nottingham Forest.
Les Ferdinand has told Sky Sports that he did not sack Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink immediately after Queens Park Rangers’ draw against Nottingham Forest two weekends ago.
Reports in The Sun suggested that Hasselbaink was sacked at the City Ground, following QPR’s 1-1 draw.
However, Ferdinand has denied that Hasselbaink was dismissed so promptly.

“I spoke to him after the game and said ‘I have to meet you at the training ground this evening.’ We didn’t sack him at Forest because we thought it would be unfair for him to climb on the coach with all the players, but the mere fact that I was telling him, he obviously knew what was going on,” Ferdinand said.
“Jimmy has been in football a long time. He understands how football works.”
QPR had actually came from behind to claim a point against Forest, but it was not enough to keep Hasselbaink in the job.

Rangers have won just two of their last 12 matches, to slip down the Championship table.
QPR have hopes of challenging for promotion this season, but they are currently in 17th place in the second tier standings.
Rangers have moved to appoint Ian Holloway to take over from Hasselbaink at Loftus Road.
Holloway will take charge of his first match as QPR manager at the weekend, when the R’s take on Norwich City this weekend.
