Les Ferdinand has showered praise on Newcastle United’s new signing Jacob Murphy.
Former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur striker and a Premier League legend, Leslie Ferdinand, has spoken highly of Jacob Murphy.
Ferdinand scored 41 goals in just 68 matches for Newcastle United, and was part of the team that was nicknamed “The Entertainers”, made up of players such as David Ginola, Alan Shearer, and Peter Beardsley.
The former England striker therefore understands how much Newcastle fans love to see players with flare.

He says that Murphy is a “very good player”, and that the former Norwich City player has got a “real chance” to establish himself as a top footballer.
“Jacob Murphy is a very good player they’ve signed from Norwich, he’s got a real chance. He’ll relish it at Newcastle with the reception he’ll get – he’ll understand what football means up there,” said Ferdinand, as quoted by The Sunday Sun (printed edition; press reader).
Ferdinand also believes that the 2017/18 campaign is a “massive season” for Dwight Gayle. He scored a lot of goals in the Championship, and now has the opportunity to show his true credentials in the Premier League.
