Les Ferdinand says he is confident that Tottenham Hotspur will sign a new player this summer.
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker and now turned football pundit, Les Ferdinand, says Spurs do not need to sign just for the sake of it.
Ferdinand believes that Spurs are a strong side and it is hard to improve it. He adds that if Tottenham sign a player, it should be someone who would add extra to what their current lot offers.
He says that the team is “not broken”, so there’s no question of fixing it.
Tottenham still remain the only side in the Premier League who are yet to sign a player this summer, but Ferdinand is confident that the north London club will make additions before the window closes.
He adds that the Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy, is known for doing business in the last week of the transfer window, so there’s nothing to panic and worry about.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have opened their 2017/18 Premier League campaign on a high note after winning 2-0 against Newcastle United on Sunday.
“Everyone is going on about the fact Spurs have not signed anyone but Daniel Levy is known for doing his business in the last week of the window,” said Ferdinand, as quoted by the Daily Star.
“So I’m sure Spurs will bring in someone. If you look at their team, though, it isn’t broken so why fix it?
“They don’t need to bring in someone just for the sake of doing it. If they sign someone it’s got to be a player who is going to add to what they’ve got.
“If you look at the players they brought in last season, you have to ask yourself what impact did they have?
“There were not too many who really impacted on the side last season. It was the boys who were already there who did it. There is a team there and it is hard to improve it.”
