The Galatasaray winger has been linked with Spurs again this week.

Reports in Turkey this week have again suggested that Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their interest in the signature of Galatasaray winger Bruma.

Aksam reported that Tottenham have watched the player in action six times already this season and will be sending a delegation to watch him after the international break as they consider making a move for the player – who is valued at around €25 million (£22 million).

His agent has also commented on the interest. Catio Balde told O Jogo, as quoted by Sport Witness, that Spurs were one of a few interested parties from England.

Now the Turkish media are reporting quotes from former Tottenham striker Les Ferdinand regarding the interest in Bruma.

Ferdinand, who spent six years playing at Spurs and a further six years as a coach at the club, has commented on the similarities between Bruma and a massive Tottenham hero in Gareth Bale.

He is quoted by Fotomac as stating:

“Bale can be replaced. He has this capacity. He could be sold to a club at the figures reached for (Gareth) Bale.

“He is a star with a future. Galatasaray this season he is a great outlet.”

Bruma, like Bale, is a powerful attacker with all the attributes to become a fantastic football – like Bale has for Wales and Real Madrid.

If Spurs could get hold of Bruma, and develop him in the way they did with Bale than undoubtedly they would have made a shrewd move.
