Leroy Rosenior calls for Mark Noble to be dropped from West Ham United’s starting line-up

West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble started the first game of the season against Manchester United.

Leroy Rosenior has told the Totally Football Show Podcast that West Ham United must drop Mark Noble.

West Ham have invested heavily in their squad over the summer, yet Noble still started his side’s first match of the campaign against Manchester United.

West Ham were heavily beaten 4-0 by the Red Devils, and Slaven Bilic’s side were well off the pace.

And Rosenior believes that Noble’s continued presence in the team is something which needs to be addressed.

“No disrespect for Mark Noble, but they’ve bought all these players, and how is he still in the team,” Rosenior, who used to play for the Hammers, questioned.

“I love Mark Noble, and he’s West Ham through and through, but they’ve bought players of good quality and spent big money. He shouldn’t still be in the side.”

West Ham’s opening day performance has sparked criticism, as they were completely outplayed by United.

The Hammers’ new arrivals appeared to make little difference, as Jose Mourinho’s side cruised to three points.

Noble’s place in West Ham is set to come under increased pressure in the near future, with Bilic’s side closing in on signing William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon.

BBC Sport report that West Ham could bring Carvalho in over the coming days, and he may be in line to replace Noble in Bilic’s starting line-up.
