Today’s early Premier League kick-off sees Swansea City welcome Liverpool to the Liberty Stadium, For one Swansea player it will also be an occasion to see an old friend yet again.
Leroy Fer will be going head-to-head with fellow Dutchman Georginio Wijnaldum in the middle of the park in South Wales.

The pair know each other very well. Both were born in 1990 and came through the ranks together at Dutch club Feyenoord. They also came through the youth system together with the Dutch national team.
With that in mind the Swansea star had this message for Liverpool’s midfield dynamo on Twitter ahead of the game:
Both will no doubt be doing combat in the middle of the park, after what has been an impressive start to the season for the pair.
Fer has been one of the stars for Swansea, whilst Wijnaldum has been excellent for Liverpool since making the switch from relegated Newcastle United in the summer.

Liverpool will be looking to continue their good run of form this afternoon. But Fer will no doubt want to play the spoil sport to his old friend.
