Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has raved about reported Liverpool target Kylian Mbappe, as quoted in 90min.
Leonardo has said that PSG want to extend the contract of Mbappe, linked with a move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
The 22-year-old France international striker is out of contract at the French giants at the end of the season.
Journalist Ian McGarry reported on the Transfer Window Podcast in August 2021 that Liverpool plan to sign the Frenchman – who earns £410,000 per week as salary at PSG, according to The Week – on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.
Leonardo said about Mbappe: “Our idea is to extend Kylian Mbappé’s contract. Nothing has changed in our plans.
“Kylian is a jewel, he is incredibly perfect for PSG…then we’ll have Kylian, Leo, Neymar. We’ve never planned PSG’s future without Mbappé.”

Could a Liverpool transfer happen?
Just because Leonardo says that PSG want to extend Mbappe’s contract does not mean that it will happen.
The 22-year-old will know that he will be a valuable player on a free transfer next summer.
Mbappe could choose from the best clubs, who will be willing to pay him a lot in salary as they will not have to pay a transfer fee.
Liverpool need to be optimistic about securing the services of Mbappe next summer.
Mbappe is one of the best and most promising young strikers in the world who would make the Reds simply unstoppable in attack.
