Everton play host to Liverpool tonight in the Merseyside Derby.
During a live interview with Sky Sports News, broadcast at 10:06 am on December 19th, ex-Everton midfielder Leon Osman offered his thoughts on his former club’s huge game against Liverpool at Goodison Park tonight, claiming that both sides are evenly matched heading into the contest.
The Reds currently sit in third position in the Premier League table, but can rise up to second with a victory, whilst Ronald Koeman’s men can jump as high as seventh if they manage to take all three points from the game.

And Osman, who made 432 appearances for the Toffees during his 16-year spell with the club, told Sky Sports how he believes there is nothing to separate the fierce Merseyside rivals, as they head into tonight’s huge derby game:
“I think they are evenly matched [Everton and Liverpool], with the fact that we are home, and Liverpool are obviously further up the league and have had a better run.”

The Blues have not won against their bitter rivals since 2010, but if Koeman’s men can channel the commitment and quality they showed during the second-half of their win over Arsenal on Tuesday, they will be more than capable of beating Jürgen Klopp’s men.
The game kicks off at 20:00 tonight and can be seen exclusively live on Sky Sports 1 from 19:00.
