Everton beat Arsenal 2-1 at Goodison Park last night.
Leon Osman has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 14th December, that he thought James McCarthy inspired Everton to victory over Arsenal.
McCarthy snapped into a series of tackles, after Everton had fallen behind against Arsenal, and it lifted the Goodison Park crowd.
With the backing of their fans, Everton were much improved, and they came from behind to claim the three points.
The Toffees scored goals through Seamus Coleman and Ashley Williams to pick up an important victory.

And Osman, who left Everton last summer, said: “James McCarthy put in four or five tackles in five minutes, and it really got the crowd going and it inspired a terrific performance.”
McCarthy has now started in Everton’s last two matches, after initially struggling to break into Koeman’s line-up at Goodison Park.

Everton had gone into the match against Arsenal in awful form, but they showed great desire to get back on track.
The Toffees are now sat in seventh place in the Premier League table, ahead of tonight’s fixtures.
Everton are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.
