Leon Osman enjoyed some of the best years of his career under new West Ham United boss David Moyes.

There was a lot of scepticism and apathy – but no lack of support – when Moyes was appointed Hammers boss last month.
While there was no initial “new manager bounce” Moyes’ work seems to have more foundation with performances gradually improving and culminating in the superb 1-0 win over Chelsea last time out.
Osman spent 11 years playing under West Ham manager Moyes during their time together at Everton.

“I think he’s a good appointment (for West Ham),” Osman told The Debate.
“We were so well drilled, we didn’t lose soft goals really which is vital when you’re down there.
“We knew set pieces in and out, he’s very meticulous, went right into detail and I think you saw that on the pitch.
“But when you’re going into a new team it’s difficult to implement your style, it takes at least a month to get your style across and to drill them so that they naturally think (and) it becomes second nature just to fall into shape and be organised.”

Osman feels West Ham may be Moyes’ last chance to prove himself again at the top level.
West Ham entertain Arsenal on Wednesday night and a repeat performance from the Chelsea game would give them every chance of back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
Do that and Moyes will be well on his way to earning an extension to his initial six month contract.
