Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye was signed from Aston Villa last summer.

Leon Osman has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 7th December, that Idrissa Gueye has become a ‘destroyer’ at Everton.

Gueye was brought to Everton from Aston Villa last summer, and he has made a huge impact at Goodison Park.

The 27-year-old has come into Everton’s team alongside Gareth Barry, and he is already playing a key role in Ronald Koeman’s side.

And Osman has been very impressed by the way that the Senegalese international has started life on Merseyside.

“He’s fitted in nicely alongside Gareth Barry,” Osman said. “He’s become a destroyer at the start of his Everton career and settled into it really well. He’s also shown signs that he can do the forward runs as well.”

Gueye has arguably been the best addition that Ronald Koeman has made at Everton so far.

Gueye’s display caught the eye once again in Everton’s latest match, which came against Manchester United last weekend.

The energetic midfielder won Everton a late penalty against United, which Leighton Baines converted, to ensure that the Toffees collected a point from the encounter.

Everton are currently in eighth place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against Watford on Saturday.
