Ross Barkley was in impressive form as Everton beat Arsenal 2-1 yesterday evening.
Leon Osman has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 14th December, that he believes Everton should build their team around Ross Barkley.
Barkley was recalled to Everton’s starting line-up against Arsenal yesterday, and the attacking midfield impressed with his performance, as the Toffees picked up a 2-1 victory.
Barkley was at the heart of everything Everton did well in the contest, and he claimed the assist for Ashley Williams’ late winner.

Osman admits that Barkley needs to show more consistency, but the former Everton midfielder believes that Ronald Koeman should be building his side around the England international’s talents.
“You’d say so [Everton should build their team around Barkley], but he’s not been consistent enough,” Osman said. “When he plays well, like last night, he really, really plays well.”

Koeman has publicly criticised Barkley this season, and he has recently dropped the 23-year-old.
Barkley sat out of Everton’s two matches prior to their game against Arsenal last night.
Barkley’s display against the Gunners should have done enough to make sure that he retains his place for Everton’s match against Liverpool at the weekend.
