The Swansea City has advised the Hammers to make a move for his former teammate.
Wilfried Bony celebrates after scoring the third goal for Manchester City
Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton has told talkSPORT that West Ham would be getting a fantastic signing in Wilfried Bony.
Britton played alongside Bony during his time at the Liberty Stadium, who he scored 35 goals in 70 games for over a two years spell.
That form earned him a big money move to Manchester City in January 2015, but he has failed to establish himself in the team ahead of Sergio Aguero.
Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony misses a penalty
He has now been linked with an exit this summer with West Ham boss Slaven Bilic admitting to BBC Sport earlier this week that they were interested.
And Britton has advised them to pursue a deal for his former teammate, saying he would represent a fantastic signing.
“He was fantastic for us Wilfried,” he told talkSPORT.
“If you get the service into the box he’s very good in the air and he’s a big character in the dressing room. If West Ham can get him he’d be a fantastic signing.”
Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony looks dejected
Whether West Ham do make a move for Bony remains to be seen, with a deal for Juventus striker Simone Zaza appearing to be close to conclusion.
Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that they have already agreed a big money deal with the Italy striker and that surely decreases the chances of Bony making the switch to the London Stadium.
However, the Ivorian would represent a smart capture given he has experience of the Premier League and it will be interesting to see if Slaven Bilic decides he needs both.
