Swansea ace urged to make return by teammate.
Swansea City legend Leon Britton has dismissed a suggestion from former teammate Oli McBurnie that he should make a return.
Britton announced his retirement from playing in May after playing more than 530 games for Swansea.
Britton began the Twitter conversation with McBurnie by praising his performance against Leeds in the Championship last night, in which he scored twice in a 2-2 draw.
Also a former caretaker manager for the Swans, Britton said that he always believed in McBurnie’s potential.
McBurnie responded by urging Britton to ‘get his boots back on’.
Britton dismissed the plea, joking he is not equipped to make a comeback.
Britton sounds as though his mind is made up, which is a shame as he could still be one of the Championship’s best midfielders.
Swansea could not lean on him forever though, and relegation was a fresh start for the club, with supporters hoping new heroes can step up.
