Ivan Cavaleiro has caught the eye in Wolverhampton Wanderers training, as he makes his return from injury.

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Leo Bonatini has told the Express and Star that he has been impressed by Ivan Cavaleiro in training.

Cavaleiro has been out injured for the whole of the season so far, but he did make his comeback in midweek.

Cavaleiro played for almost an hour in Wolves’ match against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup.

And Bonatini, who signed permanently at Wolves this summer, says that he has seen how sharp his teammate is in training.

“Cav worked a lot to be back and all the guys are happy to see him again,” the striker said.

“He looked sharp, he’s only trained for one week and he’ll improve with confidence because it’s hard for him to come back.”

Bonatini also started for Wolves against Leicester, but he failed to make much of an impact during the contest.

The Brazilian forward was unable to score, as Wolves lost on penalties to Leicester, following a 0-0 draw in normal time.

Bonatini now looks likely to drop back to the bench at the weekend, with Raul Jimenez set to replace him in Nuno’s starting line-up.

Wolves are next in action on Saturday when they take on Southampton.
