David Seaman has said on Stadium Astro that Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno will be disappointed that he has lost his place in the starting lineup to Aaron Ramsdale.

Ramdsale started for Arsenal in the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium this past weekend.

The 23-year-old English goalkeeper played well against Norwich City and Burnley and kept clean sheets.

The youngster made an excellent save against Tottenham and helped Arsenal to a 3-1 win.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Seaman believes that Leno will be disappointed that he is now the second choice despite not doing an awful lot wrong.

Seaman said on Stadium Astro: “If I was Leno, I would be disappointed because he hasn’t really done a lot wrong, but now Ramsdale has been given his chance, and he will keep the gloves until something bad happens.”

Arsenal exit inevitable?

If Ramsdale continues to play well for Arsenal, then it is hard to see Leno – signed from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2018 for £22 million, as reported by The London Evening Standard at the time – get a game again in the Premier League this season.

Leno is a Germany international and is 29 now.

If the Arsenal goalkeeper struggles for playing time in the coming months, then it is inevitable that he will look to leave the Emirates Stadium next summer.

There is even speculation that the Gunners are open to selling Leno in January or next summer.
