Celtic have reportedly tied up their first summer signing.
According to Sky Sports, Liam Shaw has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Scottish Premiership champions and will move to Parkhead from Sheffield Wednesday at the end of this season.
It’s been a disastrous campaign for Celtic, who are 18 points behind Rangers at the top of the table in what was supposed to be the year that Neil Lennon delivered 10 Premiership titles in a row.
Even more worryingly, the Gers have also one eye on next season and Steven Gerrard has wrapped up a few summer additions already.
Here’s how some fans of the Lennoxtown club reacted to the Shaw deal on Twitter.
Lennon himself has commented on the deal but, despite what some Celtic fans think, it isn’t clarification that he’s going to be in charge next season.
The Lurgan-born manager never had total control of transfers since returning to Glasgow two years ago anyway, so the fact that the Bhoys are signing players now has no bearing on whether Lennon will be around in time to see them arrive.
