Neil Lennon has confirmed that Boli Bolingoli’s representatives are working on getting him a move away from Celtic.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from Glasgow after controversially flying to Spain against quarantine protocols last month.

Accoridng to The Record, Bolingoli, a £3 million signing last summer, is on Roma’s radar and Celtic expect a bid from the Italian giants.

The Belgian left-back received a three-match ban for his visit to Spain, which also resulted in the Bhoys having to postpone their next two Premiership games.

And Lennon has told Sky Sports that the player has been slapped with a major fine, adding that Bolingoli’s people are trying to fix a departure.

He said: “He’s been heavily sanctioned by the club, the maximum sanction we could give him really. He’s not back in training and I think his representatives are looking at options for him elsewhere.”

This is definitely for the best.

Even without that incident last month, Bolingoli had it all to do to save his Celtic career after going off the boil in a big way midway through last season, failing to make a competitive appearance after the winter break.

And if Roma are genuinely interested, it’s great news for the Parkhead club on the basis that they might be able to get a decent amount for him.
