Well, Neil Lennon has effectively confirmed the interest in Celtic’s Tom Rogic.

The Daily Mail reported this week that the Australia international was close to joining an unnamed Qatar-based club for a fee in the region of £4 million.

Rogic has an ominous injury history and only managed six starts for Celtic in the Premiership last season.

When quizzed about the interest this afternoon, the Hoops boss effectively confirmed that there was substance to the speculation.

He said to a press conference via Celtic’s official YouTube channel: “I like Tom Rogic, I think he is a fantastic player. We will see how that pans out.”

This is pretty ominous if you’re a Celtic fan who likes Rogic.

Yes, Lennon said he was a ‘fantastic player’ but he also indicated that he was also up for sale, by adding he will see ‘how that pans out’.

If this was Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer or James Forrest, Lennon would’ve emphatically stated that the player wasn’t for sale and his refusal to do the same for Rogic here speaks volumes.
