Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic have been linked with a move for Werder Bremen-owned VVV-Venlo striker Lennart Thy in the summer transfer window.

Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Lennart Thy from Werder Bremen in the summer transfer window, but it seems that the 26-year-old is not looking to leave the German club, according to comments in The Scottish Sun.
Thy is on loan at VVV-Venlo in the Netherlands from German club Bremen, and, according to The Scottish Sun, the striker is wanted by Celtic.
It has been reported that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has sent scouts to watch the former Germany Under-20 international in action in the Eredivisie this season.

According to WhoScored, the striker has scored seven goals and provided five assists in 29 Eredivisie appearances for VVV-Venlo so far this campaign.
Thy, though, wants to make a mark at Bremen and is quoted as saying by The Scottish Sun about his future: “At the end of the season I’ll return to Bremen and I will work harder than ever to get into the team next season.
“It was a good decision to go on loan but it was made clear to me I won’t be at Venlo for more than a year.”

Time to move on?
Thy’s comments suggest that plan is to establish himself in the Bremen first team next season, and perhaps it is time for Celtic to move on to other targets.
There is still enough time for the Hoops to identify other strikers and come up with a list of transfer targets.
