Everton boss Sam Allardyce is keen to sign a left-back in the January transfer window.

Leighton Baines could return to Everton to find his route back to the firs-team blocked, if Sam Allardyce gets his transfer wish at Everton.
Baines has suffered a set back on his comeback from injury, which could leave him ruled out over the next few weeks.
Baines was expected to returning the near future, but it now looks as if he could be on the treatment table until next month.

And by the time Baines returns to fitness, his starting place at Everton could well be in jeopardy.

Allardyce has been forced to play Cuco Martina out of position on the left hand side of his defence so far, and he has coped well, but a new left-back is still seen as a priority in January.
And if Allardyce does complete that signing, then Baines’ future in Everton’s first-team could be under threat by the time he is fit to play again.
