‘Leighton Baines 2.0’: Everton fans dazzled by what ‘special’ prospect did yesterday

Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after Thierry Small scored for the Under-23 side in their 2-1 win over West Ham’s Under-23s yesterday.

The defender opened the scoring in fine fashion. After the ball was cut back to him, the youngster took a brilliant first touch, killing the ball dead, before rifling it past the Hammers glovesman.

The 16-year-old is a massive prospect, who the Daily Mail revealed is attracting interest from Bayern Munich.

It is also said that Juventus, Wolfsburg, Valencia, Monaco and Benfica are keen to sign him, while Arsenal are monitoring him too.

Yesterday, amid the hype surrounding the teenage prospect, Small scored his fourth goal of the season in just ten games.

That is fantastic form for a left-back who is playing at a level much higher than his age group.

Also in the Daily Mail‘s report, it was revealed that Small has been compared to Bayern Munich wonderkid Alphonso Davies.

The Canadian has become a household name thanks to his marauding runs, deadly end product and strong tackles, all of which are traits seen in the Toffees prospect.
