Celtic dropped points for just the second time all season in the Scottish Premiership as they drew 1-1 with Glasgow Rangers.

Leigh Griffiths has suggested that Craig Gordon’s performance was one of the few positives that Celtic can take from their draw with Rangers on Sunday, the Evening Times reports.
The gap between the two sides going into the contest was 33 points, and it seemed highly likely that the Hoops would secure their 27th win in 28 league games when they faced their bitter rivals.
However, the points were shared in a game which saw both sides enjoy spells of dominance, and so, ultimately a draw was arguably a fair result.
While that result would have disappointed Brendan Rodgers’ men, it could have been worse had Martyn Waghorn scored one of the two brilliant chances he had throughout the game.
However, the Gers forward’s efforts produced excellent saves from Gordon, and the Hoops man was extremely unlucky to concede the equaliser as he produced a stunning save from Emerson Hyndman’s vicious effort before Clint Hill slid in to score from close range.

And Griffiths has heaped praise upon the 34-year-old’s display, and suggested that he provided Rodgers’ men with one of the few reasons to be cheerful following the draw.
“There weren’t too many positives for us to take out of the game but you would have to give credit to big Craig,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times. “He had two really cracking saves for us and I don’t think he had any chance with the goal that went in. We were all delighted when he signed here again. He is a cracking keeper and he has showed that time and time again.”
It was certainly an excellent display from the stopper, proving exactly why the Bhoys were so keen to get him tied down to a new contract recently.
