West Bromwich Albion were said to be interested in the Celtic striker.

Leigh Griffiths has made the right call by sticking with Celtic, rather than exploring other options like West Bromwich Albion.

The Mail have claimed that Albion were interested in Griffiths in the January transfer window.

However, the striker has confirmed recently that he wants to stay with Celtic for the rest of his career.

He said to the Mail: “I have another two and a half years here, but why would you want to go anywhere else?

“You are playing at a top club with a top manager in front of 50,000 or 60,000 every week.

“There’s no reason to go anywhere. You have Champions League football every season.”

And Griffiths is right to stay at Celtic, as he has no need to risk coming to England.

If Griffiths was to chase a move to West Brom this summer, he would be giving up all the security he has at Celtic, to join a side whose future appears uncertain right now.

Albion look set to be relegated to the Championship, they do not have a permanent manager, and many of their players look set to move on in the next transfer window.

Celtic, on the other hand, can continue to offer Griffiths regular football and he is well loved at Parkhead.

And the Scottish international has made the right choice by staying where he is, rather than chasing a move back to England.
