Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has told The Scottish Sun that Rangers will not fancy playing against his side next month.

The Bhoys will take on Old Firm rivals Rangers at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership after the international break.

Brendan Rodgers’s side are in better form than the Gers and will head into the match in Glasgow as favourites.

Celtic will also head into the game high on confidence, and striker Griffiths has claimed that Rangers will not want to play against them.

The 26-year-old Scotland international striker has also warned that if the Hoops score an early goal, then it could be very tough for Rangers.

“There are 60,000 supporters looking forward to this one,” Griffiths told The Scottish Sun. “However, I don’t think Rangers will be looking forward to it after the start they have made.

“They will be looking at us and looking at the way we start at home. If we get one in early, we could make it a very difficult afternoon for them.

“But in saying that, it’s a derby and anything can happen. We need to be at our best and ready to go.

“We played our worst game of the season in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers and they scraped through on penalties. So, that shows how tough we are to beat.”

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with nine points from three matches.

Mark Warburton’s Rangers are second in the standings with eight points from four games.

The Bhoys have been in great form in the Scottish Premiership so far this season and have been scoring goals for fun.

Celtic have scored 19 goals in five home games, while Griffiths has found the net seven times in nine matches.
