Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has scored 14 goals for the Glasgow side so far this season.
Leigh Griffiths has told the Glasgow Evening Times that some Celtic fans have texted him to inform him that his attitude needs to improve.
Brendan Rodgers criticised Griffiths publicly earlier in the season, suggesting that the striker needed to get fitter.
However, Griffiths insists that he has taken the Bhoys’ boss’s advice on board, and that the pair actually get on very well.
“Being at this club, playing in the team, means everything to me,” said the striker,” Griffiths said.
“The fans have been brilliant, although there still have been a few who text me and state my attitude needs to improve.
“But I think if you asked the gaffer from now on in my attitude’s been spot on. I’ve put my head down, worked as hard as I can and got back into the squads.”
Griffiths was Celtic’s main man last season, but he has had to get used to playing a more rotational role since Rodgers took charge.
Moussa Dembele has taken over at Celtic’s main striker, with Griffiths regularly being used as a substitute.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers was once again introduced late on yesterday, as Celtic picked up a 1-1 draw against Rangers in their most recent match.
Griffiths has scored 14 goals in total this season, which is considerably less than the 40 goal total he notched last time around.
Celtic are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Dundee at Dens Park.
