Celtic eased their way into the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday afternoon, hammering Hearts 3-0 at Murrayfield to set up a clash with Aberdeen.

The Bhoys put all the talk about the venue behind them to coast through to the final, amid complaints that Hearts were able to play a ‘neutral’ tie at Murrayfield when they had played home games there last season.

After a tight first half, Celtic took the lead when Ryan Christie was brought down by Oliver Bozanic, and Scott Sinclair stepped up from the penalty spot to put Celtic in front.

Christie was involved again as Celtic made it 2-0, with his shot fumbled by Zdenek Zlamal, allowing James Forrest to nip in and score from close range.

Christie then wrapped up the win with an outstanding left-footed strike, with the Scot enjoying a remarkable second half having been brought on for Olivier Ntcham at the break.

The Bhoys are now on course to win the Scottish League Cup for a third straight year, with Brendan Rodgers closing in on more silverware.
