Leeds United will kick off their new Championship campaign next Sunday against Bristol City.

Leif Davis expressed his delight on Instagram after he played 90 minutes for Leeds United during their 1-1 draw against Cagliari on Saturday.

The 19-year-old left-back, who was seemingly the third choice at Elland Road last season, will be pushing for a starting birth ahead of the new campaign.

His performance in Italy will have helped his cause as Leeds will now be preparing for their clash against Bristol City next Sunday.

Nonetheless, following that pre-season friendly draw against Cagliari, Davis sent this message from his personal Instagram to the Leeds supporters.

It remains to be seen who Bielsa starts with at left-back next Sunday, but one thing is for sure, Davis will get his chance at some stage of the season.

Bielsa proved during the previous campaign that he is willing to give youngsters a chance and given Davis’ talents, he might be the next star breaking through.

The Yorkshire outfit will be one of the favourites to earn promotion, and after last season’s drama-filled play-off semi-final game against Derby, Leeds will be looking to put the wrongs of that game right.
