Leicester City reportedly have no intention of allowing James Maddison to leave in the January transfer window despite strong interest from the likes of Newcastle United and Tottenham.
According to Leicestershire Live, the King Power Stadium side will remain intent on keeping the England international at the club through the January window despite big claims in recent weeks that Maddison will leave the club amid Premier League interest from Newcastle and Tottenham.
The Athletic have recently reported that the Magpies are keeping tabs on Maddison, whilst according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Antonio Conte is also keen on signing the attacking midfielder, with Chelsea also in the mix for the Premier League superstar.
With a price tag of £60m according to the Northern Echo, Leicester are very clear that if Maddison was to leave in January, the Foxes want a hefty transfer fee for the playmaker. And this latest update has seemingly ended all hope Newcastle and Tottenham have in landing the 26-year-old.

Indeed, Maddison would have been a world-class addition for either Premier League side in January. However, with Leicester setting their stance early, both clubs can now head into the winter window with new targets in mind despite how perfect the England international would be.
With seven goals and four assists in the league this season, Maddison has been one of the best players in England this campaign. And Newcastle and Tottenham will struggle to find a better attacking midfielder in the market than the Leicester star.
Leicester could let Maddison leave if mammoth offer comes in

If football transfers have taught us anything in recent years, it’s that every player has his price if a club pushes hard enough for them. And we could see just this in January for Maddison if a huge offer comes in for the England international.
After all, Maddison himself is probably open to a move away from Leicester having shown to the entire Premier League that he is ready for the next step up. And for Newcastle or Tottenham, either side could test the waters with the Foxes with a huge offer that could convince the Leicestershire club to allow the midfielder to leave.
