Leicester City want Orkun Kokcu and are now in talks to beat West Ham United to the Feyenoord midfielder’s signature.

The Foxes endured an underwhelming campaign last season and now need to kick on once again.

Brendan Rodgers needs some quality additions this summer and it looks like another talented midfielder is on his wanted list.

Kokcu could now be the latest player to leave Feyenoord with Tyrell Malacia and Luis Sinisterra off to Manchester United and Leeds United respectively.

The Daily Mail now report that Leicester have opened initial talks with Feyenoord over a potential deal for Kokcu.

Kokcu is understood to be open to leaving Feyenoord this summer and has previously been tracked by Arsenal.

Leicester may need to sell some players first before striking a deal for Kokcu, leaving the door open for other clubs to swoop in.

For instance, Fabrizio Romano reported in June that West Ham had registered an interest in signing Kokcu.

West Ham are certainly in the market for a couple of midfielders this summer and Kokcu may well fit the bill.

The 21-year-old has come up through the Feyenoord ranks since arriving from Groningen back in 2014.

A talented playmaker compared to Luka Modric, Kokcu has been a star in the Netherlands.

Kokcu racked up nine goals and nine assists for Feyenoord last season, helping them reach the Europa Conference League final.

This feels like the end of an era in some ways for Feyenoord with Kokcu potentially following Malacia and Sinisterra out.

Feyenoord would loathe to lose another key player this summer but Leicester and West Ham seem interested in landing Kokcu – and denying Premier League money just doesn’t seem realistic for Feyenoord, who may now have to prepare for the Turkish international to leave.
