Leicester City are reportedly preparing a bid to sign Morocco midfielder Azzedine Ounahi amid rumours that Arsenal are still interested in Youri Tielemans.
According to L’Equipe, the Foxes are ready to make a €45m (£40m) offer to sign Ounahi following the 22-year-old’s incredible performances for the Atlas Lions at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. And the bid could hint at a potential departure for Tielemans.
The Mirror reported earlier this week that Arsenal will make one final push to sign the Belgian international in January, with Tielemans’ current contract set to expire in the summer. And for Leicester, the 25-year-old’s impending departure might be the cause for this bid for Ounahi.
The Angers maestro has been one of Morocco’s best players at the World Cup this winter as the African nation prepares to take on France in what will likely be the country’s biggest international football match of all time.

Morocco became the first African country to make it to the World Cup semi-finals after beating both Spain and Portugal in the earlier knockout stages, and Ounahi’s performances have been crucial, with the youngster’s performances seemingly catching the eye of Leicester.
Indeed, the midfielder could be a perfect signing for the Foxes if Tielemans is to leave for Arsenal in January, and based on Ounahi’s performances in Qatar, Leicester could be landing a potential bargain if the youngster can develop further with the Premier League side.
Leicester signing Ounahi could be a fantastic move

Ounahi has established himself at this World Cup as one of the tournament’s best players, with the midfielder playing a key role in Morocco’s historic run to the World Cup semi-finals, and for Leicester, the youngster would be quite the signing.
As well as replacing Tielemans should the Belgian move to Arsenal, Ounahi is a player who can develop well at the King Power Stadium, with Leicester proving to be, over the years, an ideal club for young players to hone their craft whilst playing regular Premier League football.
